so what we do in our home in Iran is lots of things

because it's flat roof and they have all for this

they usually do this on the roof

they don't have central heating

they have been like most rooms

air conditioning unit and it reverses

it does the same job

but it's not so nice to have warm air

as it is to have on the floor

and they put electric showers

electric water heater for the kitchen

so everything

we have a big boiler

there for hot water

for now

but if

no when they turn off gas

if we have to take the

turn off the gas

all the boilers get taken out of the houses

all the houses have

by 2035 they're going to phase out gas boilers

they might speed that up

they better spend the money on

subsidising everybody to get a heat pump

than to subsidise people on gas

because it says

at the minute it's £10,000

but the government are subsidising £7,500

I know

in some areas

I've got so many people

friends have got that

and our neighbours getting it

next week

it's too expensive

very expensive

it's cheaper than a boiler

if you only have to pay £2,500

and your energy then is going to cost a lot less

so the government is doing it for some area

some people

I'm not saying anybody for a heat pump

at the moment

anybody can get it

it depends on the size you need

the size you need

and the type you get

the price is around £10,000

but they're paying £7,500

towards it

same with solar panels

they're paying £3,500 towards it

my neighbour's getting it

I'm going to get a quotation

he's getting a heat pump in the garden

but he's not very happy because it's quite big

he's having solar panels on the roof

because all the houses on our estate

they have solar panels on the south facing

so our houses are east to west

but he's having on both sides

and they reckon that

well it's different stuff

they reckon that it's even better in a way

because he's getting more energy

more hours of sunlight

but less strong at any one time

and he's having an air conditioning point at the same time

well with those solar panels

what happens at some point

too many batteries needs replacement

he's getting a 2.5 kilowatt battery

a kilowatt hour battery

which is not very big

but it's enough for the use

the amount of light that we get

it'll give a whole 24 hours of supply

and his car as well is

acts as a battery

that's a new thing

no I mean like when comes that time

because you get too many solar

and then

the battery is only about 800 pounds

a portion of it

because he's getting a smaller one

recycling them and stuff

that's a problem for the world

but for the homeowner

it's not a huge problem

is helping the environment

eventually it's not helping much

you can have a feed in

or you give it back to the family

and you're getting money knocked off your bill

people don't do that anymore

you've got to put a battery on your house

which has to go on the outside

and you store the energy

and they use it

and you can see on the app or whatever

how much you've got saved power

so like you've run your dishwasher

and that's when it's full

and the bills supposed to come to virtually nothing now

she had the update

she's paying for it over ten years or something

on the scheme

and it's

she's going to pay less than she does currently

just for the battery

and the gas is still going to be there

but in time everybody will end up with a heat pump
