I can't remember, like 10 years ago.

It's a balloon festival in Bristol. Have you been there?

No.

Here is very nice.

Bristol was nice, nice town.

They had lots of restaurants and bars and canals, like Venice,

with bridges and water between them.

That was nice.

But I didn't go more south-west than that,

but I've been around all the other parts of England, Scotland, Wales.

They've got the prettiest service station up way down, sir.

So, go on, do you want to go down to Cornwall?

Gloucester services, have you ever stopped there?

No.

North Wales is really good, too.

Really good.

And it's not far, it's only two hours.

When?

North Wales, like Llandudno.

Llandudno and stuff like that's nice.

And Conway.

They drive on the left.

About three hours.

Less, I think, two.

You go to Manchester Airport and you're halfway there.

Yeah, it's not far, Llandudno.

It's a good road as well.

It's not like, there's not small roads.

It's a dual carriageway at least all the way to Llandudno.

Yeah, it's an easy ride.

When John lived in Manchester, they used to go every few weeks

and I went a few times.

I enjoyed it up there, wasn't it?

It should be a ferry from around there to...

Dublin, there it is, yeah.

Holyhead to Dublin is a ferry.

But that's...

That's the main one.

I think that...

Any time I've ever looked at that, it costs four or five times more than flying.

And it takes all the...

Unless you want to experience it.

Because we went to Ireland a couple of times and I was planning to do that.

But in the end, I just flew and hired a car because it's cheaper than taking your own car on the ferry.

And they also drive on the left.

And you know how far it is, it looks...

It takes a long time, yeah.

That was the other thing, the ferry, Holyhead to Dublin.

Is it something like, it's a good few hours.

Yeah.

All the night, possibly.

Yeah, yeah.

Yeah, but that's it, Manchester to Dublin, flights are like £10.

Because Ryanair is from Ireland.

Many, many, many of the flights they do back to Manchester, then they return the planes to Ireland.

So they're selling tickets very cheap.

Dublin's really nice, too.

Better than England.

Well, it's not as long as I thought, actually.

Three and a half hours.

Yeah, but it's like 40 minutes, if not...

Three and a half hours only.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying.

Stand a line, it's only three and a half hours.

When you get on the plane, though, it's so short.

They tell you before you sit down, if you want a tea or coffee, you have to order it now.

Because when we take off, we bring them out, and then...

Yeah, you just have to sit on a...

And it's like propeller planes, isn't it?

No, I was on a Ryanair, I'm sitting on a Ryanair.

The basic, like, Dublin's the main base.

And many flights, it was from Newcastle and Teesside.

There were flights to, like, Rome and whatever from Newcastle.

But they'd come back, and at 10 o'clock at night, they'd return their aircraft to Dublin.

Yeah.

So you could buy seats for 99p.

And any time I did it, we did it many times from Newcastle.

You can't do that now, 99p, but it was 99p.

And there would only be, like, four people in the plane.

Because they were just returning them back there.

And when we went to Lydie Island, we were on one of them little propeller planes.

Two on one side, two on the other.

Well, they used to go from Dublin, they used to go from Doncaster and Flybe.

Yeah.

Yeah, we went all over with that.

We did a couple of Italian trips.

We went to Mallorca once on one of them.

It's not active yet, no?

Not yet.

No.

2028 at least.

What, Doncaster?

Doncaster.

And we went to Berlin with my granddad on one of them, and it broke down.

We got stuck in the sky for hours.

I did not enjoy it.

Our plane had a problem.

They were not that reliable, I think.

It had a problem on the way, and we were circling for a while, and then we landed.

And then when we were coming back, it was delayed by, like, eight hours or something.

So we got all the money back and all the compensation.

Because if it's more than so many hours late, you get a massive refund.

And an extra day in Berlin with my granddad.

So it worked out.

I would like to do an island trip.

I think Ireland is really nice.

Ireland is very good, too.

It's expensive compared to here now.

It used to be that you'd go there and everything was quite a lot less expensive.

But, yeah, a meal is, like, 25 euros.

We went to Cork, and we went to the Oysterfest.

I didn't go there, but when I was in Italy, we had lots of friends who were from Galway.

And we were invited, but never went.

Why don't we go to Galway?

Galway.

And my dad went there on a trip, didn't he?

He said it was really nice, but I say I'm expensive.

Like, he went to a Turkish kebab shop, and it was, like, I can't remember what he said.

Something crazy, like 30 euros for a kebab and chips.

When were you there?
