I don't think it'll outperform a pro in resale,

but I also don't think it'll collapse in value like a mid-range phone.

What would I do?

If I had your exact circumstances, I would not rush.

You're not upgrading from an old phone.

You're upgrading from a 16 Pro that still does everything brilliantly.

I'd wait until after Apple's September event unless one of these happens.

Costco's £790 offer is ending very soon.

You try the Air in your hand again and absolutely fall in love with how it feels.

The only reason I'd swap from the 16 Pro is because I preferred using it,

not because it was objectively a better specification.

One final question.

What would you expect to get for your 16 Pro?

If you could sell it privately for around £700-£800,

then moving to a brand new Air at £790 would cost you remarkably little.

At that point,

the decision becomes much more about which phone you'd enjoy carrying every day.
