To be honest, mine was looking sorry for itself, so i : - raked it aggressively to remove dead stuff - weeded by hand rather than with spray which also made the grass pale (or die, even though it was "lawn safe") - overseeded - watered generously every night - mowed every 4 days with the manual mower.

I like this, not out of laziness, but its made the lawn more green, more even, thicker blades.. getting cut every day encourages the grass to grow wider and stronger

I know. Thats the point actually. You set the cut height, it goes out every day and does it. And never gets longer. So you never see the difference, its just always the right length. But you can hear when it is cutting vs not cutting.
