It’s 3 series like the one I used to have :p

Absolutely. The gear selector is one of the strongest clues. Here’s how it helps: * E9x 3 Series (E90/E91/E92/E93, 2005–2013) used the conventional automatic gear lever shown in your photo. It has the leather gaiter and chunky handle. * F30/F32 generation (3 & 4 Series, 2012 onwards) switched to BMW’s distinctive electronic “joystick” gear selector with no leather gaiter. In your photo I can also see: * The dashboard layout is pure E9x generation. * The iDrive screen is the older style, integrated into a hooded binnacle. * The climate control panel and centre console are exactly what I’d expect in an E93. * The door cards and the shape of the rear quarter trim behind the seats are also consistent with the E93 convertible. So I’d say the gear selector isn’t just a clue—it’s one of the clearest indicators that this is the older E9x platform rather than an F-generation 3 or 4 Series.
